My first ever paper! PKNU Spring Festival
It's already 3am and I'm still here at my desk typing away. Can't sleep yet, I want to, I'm really tired but I made the wrong choice of watching a depressing movie so I can't sleep just yet. The Virgin Suicides. Don't watch the movie, don't read the book. It's really so depressing I get nightmares each time I read/watch that title.
I hope I end my three day marathon of zombie-ness. Three days ago, my professor called me to his office on the one day I was really, really late and told me, that I have to write a paper for this conference. He called me in on Wednesday morning and told me to hand up on Saturday. Four pages, double columns. Heck I'm still waiting for my electronic components to arrive by delivery so I told him, I have no results yet. He knows, but told me to take it as practice. So Day 1, I wrote the introduction. There was a lot of rock music outside the window. My university is having its annual Spring Festival. Couldn't concentrate and screw it, went to the rock fest with a friend. Day 2, not a lot of progress but I completed page 2. My face turned green. And at night, still went for beer at the carnival grounds. Lotsa rap music that night. K-rap doesn't really suit me, but it was fun. And fireworks from the balcony! Wow... the university really spent a lot on the Spring Carnival.
Day 3... finally... I completed the paper. My first ever paper! It was really tough to write, for this paper I had to dig out everything I learnt from my undergraduate years... electronics, optical, telecommunications... for a single topic. I know I should be pleased with it, makes me wonder why I didn't write any papers in Intel since I can get one out in just three days... but... oh gosh... I don't wanna look at the quality. Just sent it in for the professor to review and I just hope that I don't get a lot of crap out of it tomorrow... x_X
Some photos from the Spring Festival. Not so depressing, really. Cheered me up just to look at these photos! ^^
Everything festive here starts with alcohol. Yes! The difference with Malaysian universities is here, pretty Korean beer girls give out free alcohol drinks... in campus! I had a Cass beer handed to me before lunch and this stall here serves out free makkoli, a Korean rice wine drink with 2% alcohol. It's pink and tastes sweet... yummy!
And of course, Korean food stalls. You can see these stalls everywhere, at tourist spots, at festivities, selling yummy pork satay... and not so yummy... broiled bugs. Eeww.

But we Malaysians didn't setup a stall... hehe... the five lazy Malaysians... we could have sold Hainan chicken rice but the Singaporeans would argue it's theirs... we could have sold nasi lemak but the Indons would argue it's theirs... we could have worn cheongsam but the China people would argue it's theirs... luckily we didn't sing Rasa Sayang because the Indons started singing it when we were halfway through our meal... *sweat*
Then it was to more rock music and pounding our fists in the air... the end.
