The Snowbowl Snowman

#throwback #6yearsago #christmasinusa

Why so many throwback posts lately? Haha... this one is because one of my friends started a phototagging challenge on FB to upload B&W photos for five days. As I was looking through my old USA photos I came across these memories..

Week 5 (Dec 21st, Sunday)
Arizona Snowbowl

We had just finished skiing at Snowbowl, Flagstaff, Arizona and were traveling home when we passed by this quaint little bistro all decked up with Christmas lights. It was one of our first few times to see snow so we were pretty pumped up by it.

Broke off an icicle (ooh! never seen one of those before!!) from one of the tree branches and started playing with it... having "fights", "stabbing" through the heart with the icicle and playing unicorn with it.

 Also saw our first snowman...

Frosty the Snowman, is a fairytale, they say.
He was made of snow, but the children know he came to life one day.
There must have been some magic in that old silk hat they found,
For when they placed it on his head, he began to dance around!

Frosty the Snowman, knew the sun was hot that day,
so he said, "Let's run, and we'll have some fun now, before I melt away."
Down to the village, with a broomstick in his hand,
Running here and there, all around the square,
sayin', "Catch me if you can."

He led them down the streets of town, right to the traffic cop;
and only paused a moment, when he heard him holler, "Stop!"
For Frosty, the Snowman, had to hurry on his way,
But he waved goodbye, sayin' "Don't cry, I'll be back again some day."

Thank God for Christmas songs... I kinda run out of nursery rhymes to sing so luckily the season is here so I can sing those merry Christmas songs to my daughter! *^^* Though "Frosty The Snowman" always sounds a tad sad to me, because in reality he's melting away... :P

Well, that was a small memoir of what we did after skiing in Snowbowl, though the skiing part is a story for another day...!
