But imagine my SURPRISE when I got home and found that both lifts were out-of-order.
And you'll never guess the BEST thing is... I stay on the 17th floor!!! So how? WALK UP LAH! I mean, I'd climbed higher hills before...
Walk walk walk... up to 4th floor, called Xuan to share the joke.
Walk walk walk... up to 6th floor, saw ppl stuck in the lifts. Had a great laugh. HAHAHAHA. Happy to know there's some ppl lagi unluckier than me. HAHAHA *Can't stop laughing...
Walk walk walk... up to 8th floor, saw a cute guy looking out of his balcony. He was looking at people climbing the stairs FOR HIS OWN FUN. Cute, but what a jerk. *Faster wipe my sweat...
Walk walk walk... up to 10th floor, and from there up to 17th floor. Piece of cake.
Just, still don't understand, why these things always happen to me -_-'''
And that's the story of how I got my leg exercise for one week.

I heard a beautiful voice sing on that bright morning while I was driving. Eager to find out who she was, I remembered the lyrics of the song and Googled it. The singer was Corrine Bailey Rae, an English singer who released her epynomous album in February 2006.
Her voice makes me think of small, black kids playing hopscotch in the backalleys, and little girls staring out the window pane at a rainbow arch in the sky. Beautiful, innocent and sweet, like the voice of an angel.
I couldn't find any mp3 downloads to this song, so I searched for Youtube, so I could replay it again and again and again...
Here are two songs, the first one being "Put Your Records On" and "Like A Star". Tell me what you think!
Corrine Bailey Rae "Put Your Records On"
Girl, put your records on, tell me your favourite song
You go ahead, let your hair down
Sapphire and faded jeans, I hope you get your dreams,
Just go ahead, let your hair down.
You're gonna find yourself somewhere, somehow.
Corrine Bailey Rae "Like A Star"
Another thing I've prided myself of is the fact that I'd managed to mellow down my temper over the past few years, evolving into a somewhat milder version of me. Friends who have known me since my secondary school years couldn't agree more. Even my mom, who has known me for 23 years, said that I've not a little bit of "temper" in me left. However, it was not until lately, that she commented about my change in behaviour. Why the grouses and grumpiness and quick lashes of my tongue? Alas, I think this streak of hot-headedness in me has begun to rear its ugly head again.
I guess there's lots to blame for this change in me (for worse); I can start to blame the major people influences around me, the traffic in Penang, PMS... but I don't think that's the wisest approach to solve this problem. As if a message from God (or rather from Intel), I saw this passage in a bulletin today. And it really talked some sense into my head.
The 90/10 Principle by Stephen Covey
10% of life is made up of what happens to you. 90% of life is decided by how you react. What does this mean?
We really have no control over 10% of what happens to us. We cannot stop the car from breaking down. The plane will be arriving late, which throws our whole schedule off. A driver may cut us off in traffic. We have no control over this 10%. The other 90% is different. You determine the other 90%. How?
By your reaction. You cannot control a red light, but you can control your reaction. Don't let people fool you; YOU can control how you react.
I guess its true that my reaction to a situation is what that counts. By not:
- freaking out/ playing rough in a traffic situation,
- controlling myself not to burst out in profanities whenever a driver/ motorist cuts my queue,
- maintaining my cool composure when someone speaks out at me,
- holding my tongue when I feel I need to lash out.
As it turns out, I'll only make myself feel like an ass after I scold someone. Afterwards. So I think by constantly reminding myself of these principles, I'll regain my happy, pleasant self in no time at all. :)

You are a City Girl!
Whether you live in the city or not, you've got the heart of a city girl.
You're up on the latest trends - what's hot in music, food, and fashion.
And you love to be on the go. Your perfect day is filled with tons of fun.
Your perfect guy is a city guy, so head to LA, NYC, Sydney, or London to find him!
You Are Midtown
You love so many things, you don't fit into any one label.
Your city girl persona goes to a fancy restaurant one night and a dive bar the next.
Your Flirt Quotient
Your Vibe Is Somewhat Sexy
On a good day, you're the sexiest woman in the world
But on a bad day, you can't help but feel a little average
Try to remember the times you've felt the sexiest...
And keep that attitude even on the worst of days
You Are 51% Independent
Overall, you're a pretty independent woman. You don't follow trends just to fit in.
You've got your own cool thing going on, though you sometimes still care too much about what other's think.
You Are a Classic Beauty!
You have a timeless beauty that looks great in every decade
Instead following trends, you stick to what works
And this means you never skimp on your beauty routine
Upside? Your classic looks tends to attract gentlemen - not boys.
You can seem confident when the occasion calls for it
But inside you may be experiencing a bit of self doubt
A little more inner confidence could take you far...
And convince others that you're as confident as you try to seem
Your Celebrity Style Twin is Gwen Stefani
Trendsetting, unique, and stylish.

On a happier note, Berry is in Penang! So happy to see her again... I never thought that our paths would cross since the day we left Cyberia, but life does have its small little miracles, and now there she is in my room! *Yes, we are roomies AGAIN!*
Hehe... so I wanna dedicate this MTV to my sweet roomie who loves pop and pink! (Nahh, just an excuse cos I lurveeeeeeee this song so much!)
Beyonce feat. Slim Thug and Bun B "Check on It"
On a not-so-happy note, Bin is going to KUKTEM. For those of you who dunno what KUKTEM is, it stands for Kolej Universiti Kejuruteraan dan Teknologi Malaysia. And it is located in Gambang, Pahang.
Oh did I mention Pahang?
PAHANG!!! For God's sake, me and my family would never have THOUGHT that he was gonna be sent all the way there. I guess the fact never really dawned on me that one day, my younger brother would be one of the victims of the horrendous Malaysian education system! I mean, with 3A's and 1B, and a good co-curriculum mark of 8/10, why wasn't it possible for him to enter one of the more prestigious, CLOSER, universites like UM, UTM, USM, UKM or UPM? I guess we should feel lucky that my brother is getting the course that he wants, compared to the other 30,000 others who failed to even get a place in university. But my God, Kuantan is starting to feel like a trillion years away~ feel very worried that he is going over there alone. :(

Fantastic, fantastic song I heard on the radio when I was driving.
I remember when, I remember, I remember when I lost my mind
There was something so pleasant about that phase.
Even your emotions had an echo
In so much space
And when you're out there
Yeah, I was out of touch
But it wasn't because I didn't know enough
I just knew too much
Does that make me crazy
Does that make me crazy
Does that make me crazy
And I hope that you are having the time of your life
But think twice, that's my only advice
Come on now, who do you, who do you, who do you, who do you think you are,
Ha ha ha bless your soul
You really think you're in control
Well, I think you're crazy
I think you're crazy
I think you're crazy
Just like me
My heroes had the heart to lose their lives out on a limb
And all I remember is thinking, I want to be like them
Ever since I was little, ever since I was little it looked like fun
And it's no coincidence I've come
And I can die when I'm done
Maybe I'm crazy
Maybe you're crazy
Maybe we're crazy
The fact has begun to dawn on me that... instead of having friends and family to drive me around, I've to start becoming my own driver, and become responsible for each of my actions behind the steering wheel in order I get safe and sound through each day. Well some of you who have been driving all this while may not think that wow, this is a big deal... But, for someone who has been seating for 23 years (Oh no! I mentioned my age again!) in the passenger seat, this is really one heck of a revealation of the fact that I have to depend wholly on myself, and no one else (pray unless I get a bf soon.. :P).
I always think about those beautiful years when I didn't have to drive, I'd always rely on my dad or bro to fetch me around in Ipoh, my mom to fetch me to the pool, get Kahkhee or Jiayunn to drive during our gatherings in Ipoh, and Zhiwei, Berry and WS in Cyberjaya. *Respect to my long-time chauffeurs! Well, I guess those WERE the days.
So, I think I might have to get used to this, though I stand steadfast in the opinion that I'm a 'passenger person' :) Why not? You get to catch a few winks, dance to the music and shrug off the traffic and other horrible drivers (Well, not counting me... HAHA!)

I guess I was too anxious to take my colleagues advice to let it dry completely before switching it on. Consequently, I heard sizzling sounds (!) and smelt a burnt smell (!!) at the headphones side near to the top ON button! And I wasn't able to switch it on and kinda gave up all hope on it, since it had served me well for 5 years, and I kinda already decided to get a new one this week...
Miracles do happen! My phone was reincarnated just now at 3.30pm! Seems like from then on things took a change today, and I had good luck coming along! Now I don't need to spend extra money on getting a new phone :P Not just yet!
The best thing that happened to me was: I FINALLY GOT MY PARKING SPACE! For those who know about space in Penang, it is just SO hard to get a parking space! While both of my housemates got theirs last week... I thought I wouldn't be getting one until 2 months later... but the management office called and said there's one available for me, and it's just below my apartment! Don't even need to walk far! Hehe! Ain't that great news or what?
Praise the Lord!
Too much UNIX can really give you Dilbert-like habits. Yesterday I was asking my colleague to sketch out a map for me on her white board and she put there "traffic_lights". Get it? Underscore, man!!
Managed to drive safely to Intel, and I only "died fire" once. Hehe.. along the road from Sg. Ara there's not much jam and the traffic is quite smooth at one point, so it really takes only 20 mins from my door to Intel carpark.
Everything is really efficient and casual in the workplace. Just like MMU, everything can be done online, and I kinda thank MMU for reducing the tech-culture shock. Everyone else dresses casual here, just a simple t-shirt and jeans, and I can even come in sport shoes!! I had a buddy assigned to me, which is good cos she helps me to mingle better with the colleagues here and also teaches me about the workings of the company. In short, life is quite okay here. :)

But the good news is, I got my light, bouncy curls back! Whee! And I did it at this nice, comfy, affordable little place at Canning Garden called Potpourri: cut, wash and blow at RM26. I say, get a fresh start before work-day comes! ;)
And while I was getting my hair cut I saw in a magazine these really snuggly pictures of Nicole Kidman and her beau, Keith Urban! Ohmigod, I don't mean to sound over-exhilarated cos I'd never seen pictures of this country singer before, but, Keith Urban is SO CUTE! Apparently he was voted as one of the sexiest men in the world too. Hmm, and he does remind me of an acquaintance of mine, especially with his haircut. Hahaha... oh how I wish I had my very own Keith Urban... *smiles to sleep
P/S: And oh yeah, what's all the fuss about 666 being an evil day for Westerners but a good OMEN for the Chinese? Slept through 06:06:06:06:06:06, yes I did!
Anyway, will blog soon... those who are good Christians do please pray that I get through my first day of work (next Monday) smoothly and klutz-free!
