追逐快乐 The Pursuit of Happiness

看到这里

我不禁怀疑

人们追逐的快乐
到底是什么

是不是有钱就等于快乐

没有钱

也能够活得快乐吗

有钱在口袋内

似乎已经变成一种习惯

一种必然

好像潦倒的日子

我不曾拥有过

可是

好久没有感觉到

真正的快乐

麻木开始入侵我的身躯

如果恋爱能使人快乐

我喜欢的你

可以让我快乐吗？

On the path of life, everyone is in search of that thing called Joy. Different phases of life bring on a different chase; while children are easily content with a lollipop and a trip to the zoo, adults might be looking for something quite difficult to find... and at times, difficult to determine.

In the Declaration of Independence of the USA, it is stated that "all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness" - Thomas Jefferson

What happiness means to different people:

Some are happy at getting a scholarship to fulfill the dreams they've always wanted, some are happy at the birth of a new-born niece, some are happy at a promotion and raise, some are happy to finally own a house of their own, some are happy when the girl they like smiles to them, while some are just simply blissful for a mouth to eat and clothes on their back.

How about someone who is not even remotely sure about what the chase is for? And caught up in confusion along the way? And blissfully unaware that everyone else is heavily in pursuit of their happiness in this dog-eat-dog world.

Maybe it's because I have been so content with myself that I lost track of the ultimate goal... What would make me truly happy? What exactly do I want to achieve in life? Sadly, the pursuit of happiness is just like a walk in the fog to me...
